Walrus Audio (press release)

Norman, Oklahoma —January 17th, 2014

The Descent Reverb is Walrus Audio’s latest venture, deeper into the world of modulation effects. A fresh take on recent developments in the sound of reverb, the Descent employs dark tones that emulate cavernous depths—resounding and full-bodied with thick, harmonic overtones.

The Descent is capable of classic sounds but careens further into the sonic realms of the creative, the strange and the abstract. From vintage Hall Reverb settings to the conceptual Reverse and Shimmer Reverbs, the Descent covers a wide scope of possibilities in ambience. The additional Dry Signal, +1 and -1 controls are the first of their kind, allowing the user to fully dial in an exact amount of unaffected signal, as well as one octave up and one octave down into the Reverb’s Wet Mix. These controls are active in every mode but uniquely display themselves in the Shimmer mode, allowing for previously unheard-of practicality and application. Walrus Audio steps into the future by allowing players the opportunity to create sounds that have yet to be discovered.

The Descent Reverb is dark blue, with artwork by Nathan Price demonstrating darkness coming to light. Every part in the circuit is made with high-fidelity components, as well as industrial grade switches and jacks.

Features are below:

  • Three reverb modes: Hall, Reverse and Shimmer

  • Controls include: Dry Mix, Wet Mix, Reverb Time, Diminish, Tweak and control of the signals feeding into the Wet Mix: Dry Signal, -1 (octave down) and +1 (octave up)

  • Three savable presets

  • 9V DC

  • Mono input and stereo outputs, expression control out, remote preset out

The Walrus Audio Descent Reverb carries a retail price of $349.00 and will be available in February at multiple outlets or at www.walrusaudio.com.

Walrus Audio (press release)

Norman, Oklahoma —June 6th, 2014

The team at Walrus is excited to announce the highly anticipated release of the Descent Reverb. Production is in progress and will begin shipping units out on June 11, 2014

The Descent captures the height of a harmonic symphony with its Shimmer and Reverse capabilities, but can also dial in the classic hall reverb functions. With three modes: Hall, Reverse and Shimmer, the user has infinite possibilities for reverb. The Dry Control gives the user precise control over the amount of un-effected signal, while the +1 and -1 octave controls allow the user to add high and low octaves to the Reverb’s Wet Mix. The expression pedal output is intuitive and can be easily programmed for one or all of the controls; creating, for example, the ability to bring in and out symphonic octave swells. The Descent works with most on-the-shelf expression pedals.

The Descent offers 3 presets and can even be operated by a remote switcher (available for purchase separately) that allows the user to operate the bypass and preset controls from a small switcher (connected via TRS cable) at the front of their pedal board, freeing up valuable board real estate.

The Descent Reverb is dark blue, with signature Walrus artwork from Nathan Price. As with all Walrus products, the pedal is made with high¬-fidelity components and industrial grade hardware, switches and connectors.

Features:

  • Three reverb modes: Hall, Reverse and Shimmer
  • Controls include: Dry Mix, Wet Mix, Reverb Time, Diminish, Tweak and control of the signals feeding into the Wet Mix: Dry Signal, -1 (octave down) and +1 (octave up)
  • Three savable presets
  • 9V DC
  • Mono input and stereo outputs, expression control out, remote preset out
  • Made in the USA with a 5 year warrantly
