Southampton Pedals All Things Equal

Southampton Pedals

The first thing a musician learns when they start down the rabbit hole of tone chasing is "everything should be true bypass... BUFFERS = BAD!".  Ten true bypass pedals later, the same player wonders what happened to their tone.  The truth is, poorly designed buffers are bad.  Most guitars and basses use passive pickups which simply can't drive a signal through that many cables and pedals without losing some high end.

Enter the All Things Equal.  The ATE is an always-on buffer with two channels, with unity gain around 9 o'clock on the dial.  Step on the switch to toggle between the "Blue" and "Red" channels.  This lets you use your buffer as a volume boost, a mute switch, or to even out pickups (humbuckers and single coils, anyone?).

On top of all that, the "Clean/Dirty" switch puts our classic Fifth Gear Overdrive in front of this pedal to act as an always-on dirty tone.  We figured so many people were leaving their Fifth Gears on all the time, may as well build it in.  The gain of the Fifth Gear (version 1) is set by an internal trim pot.

With this many options, the All Things Equal could be the only pedal you need for a gig.

All Southampton pedals are handmade in Guelph, Ontario, and come with a lifetime warranty. Pedals ship Friday of each week.  Current draw is ~5 mA.
