Manlay Sound

The 66 Bender is based on the legendary Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1.5. It was a transistional two germanium transistors design Sola Sound produced only briefly between the MKI and the MKII Professional in early 1966. Its design represents the genesis of the "Vox Tone Bender" and the "Fuzz Face". Supposedly, that was the legendary pedal used by The Beatles on their song "Think for Yourself". The 66 Bender is replicates the same Tone Bender MK1.5 circuit producing the classic fuzz sounds of the sixties. Thanks to its two hand selected germanium transistors, it provides a warm distortion and a clarity rarely found in other fuzz boxes. It is also possible to clean up the signal through the guitar's volume control, which makes it a very versatile fuzz effect.
