Pro Guitar Shop
When you read the name “Keeley,” you know what you’re getting: unparalleled tone and attention to detail. Keeley’s been making boutique pedals longer than many of you have been playing guitar and he leaves no stone unturned in his quest for tone.
That said, the Silver Bullet is one of the finest British fuzzes on the market, period. The transistors come from Robert Keeley’s private stock, as they are nearly impossible to find these days. Each Silver Bullet contains one extremely rare mil-spec CV7003 and two silicon transistors, and the CV7003 is visible when you pop the back. Each rare piece is finely tuned to deliver maximum fuzz. And when these are gone, that's it. No more, ever.
What’s the sound like? It definitely has its roots in the Tone Bender family, but it’s just MORE. The sound is akin to what the MKIII SHOULD have sounded like. It’s incredibly thick and screams on lead playing. The notes bloom beautifully and sustain like nothing else out there. The Tone control is not like a standard tone control, in that it’s best used to match your pickups.
Much like an old-style fuzz pedal, the Silver Bullet cleans up like nothing else. The Fuzz control is best used in conjunction with your guitar’s volume knob rather than a complement; it really is that versatile. Using these in tandem, you can get everything from pristine cleans to an all-out fuzz assault.
Powering the Silver Bullet is as refreshing as the sound; there are no weird adapter snafus to consider. Use a standard 9v adapter like everything else on your board.
The Keeley Silver Bullet is made from the finest components money can buy, one at a time, in Oklahoma. The unit is wired for true bypass and accepts a standard 9v center-negative Boss-style power supply. The current draw is low, and it’s ready for any isolated power supply.
If you absolutely, positively need the best fuzz, accept no substitutes.
Keeley Silver Bullet Fuzz - Cowgirl edition
Never before available on our website, the Silver Bullet Fuzz, is our lower priced, but equally impressive sister to the Black Glass series of “Bender” style fuzz pedals. To make this version special we have commissioned all new artwork from Erin Lofties, the same artist that designed our Psi Fuzz and outfitted it with a NOS Soviet Germanium transistor. This “Cowgirl” edition will be limited to just 30 pieces in this run.
At the heart of the Silver Bullet’s remarkable sound is a NOS Soviet Germanium transistor. Robert Keeley reached into his secret stash of Germanium transistors for this one which means it is a very limited run of pedals. Matching with the vintage Germanium is a duo of silicon transistors for a fat, spongy tone reminiscent of the finest Tone Benders. The Silver Bullet’s tone knob functions more like voice control, perfect for matching the pedal’s character to your guitar’s pickups. Unlike a lot of old-school germanium-based fuzzes, the Keeley Silver Bullet operates on standard 9volt, center-negative power, letting you integrate it easily into any pedalboard. It also features rugged true bypass switching, and like all of Keeley’s premium products, the Silver Bullet is made by hand in Oklahoma, USA.
