The first modulation pedal we at JMK Pedals go to is the transistor based bias trem, so it seemed appropriate to use our favorite type of tremolo when we decided to release one! This tremolo hails from the classic design with a few added twists, including the option to have an LED that flashes in time with the speed of the tremolo!
This tremolo feels a lot like the classic ‘vibrato’ found in the old Fender tube amps. In fact, we’ve tested it beside a silverface Vibro Champ and found it to sound so similar to be indistinguishable. If you like the smooth, gentle, tremolo found in Fender amps, this is for you.
The Tremolo’s controls are fairly simple.
- The Speed knob controls the rate of the tremolo, from very slow to quick.
- The Depth knob controls the intensity of the tremolo, from subtle to hard chop.
- The Level knob controls the output level, and will give you signal boost if you turn it up.
This pedal is really sweet if you like smooth and subtle trem. It can give you a hard, fast chop if you so desire, but it really excels in those ranges where you can tell it’s on, but not overpowering.
