Hudson Electronics UK Fuzz (Mk IV)

Hudson Electronics UK

The Fuzz is a replica of the Sola Sound MKIV Tone Bender from the late 60′s, early 70′s. It is a germanium transistor based circuit and is the most versatile of our line up. This pedal has been loaded with Mullard GET872 N.O.S. transistors that have been selected and tested for gain and leakage. The circuit has been biased to perfection. This pedal can go from big thick smooth fuzz tones on over to super bright ice pick to the forehead tones. You can go from gritty fuzz to smooth fuzz depending on how you set the controls. It really covers everything from 60′s to 70′s fuzz tones with ease.

Each pedal is built by hand from scratch onto vintage-style stripboard, using high quality components and with a high attention to detail. They come loaded with Omeg (UK) pots, a heavy duty Alpha switch, Re’an Jacks, carbon film resistors, Konek / WIMA / BC capacitors and other high quality components.

  • Volume – Controls the overall volume of the pedal.
  • Fuzz – Controls the intensity of the fuzz effect.
  • Treble Bass – Controls the tone of the pedal.

Like the many vintage fuzz pedals, the Fuzz runs on batteries only. Disconnecting the input jack when not in use allows a single battery to last a long time, owing to the very low current draw of the circuit. We fit and recommend Zinc Chloride type batteries.
