Hartman about the NKT275 version (2007)

A very musical sounding and faithful clone of the original Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face circuit using genuine NOS ("new old-stock") Newmarket NKT275 PNP Germanium transistor (the same as those used in the originals during the 1960s) plus modern amenities: true-bypass, on/off LED, and 9VDC-in jack.

Hand-wired, rugged construction, and thoroughly auditioned prior to shipping. Delivers sustain, smooth sexy decay, cleanup at the flick of your guitar volume, and the instantly recognizable yet indescribable tonal coloration of Germanium. This is the real deal--an exemplary spec Arbiter Fuzz clone--but that's all it is. The testimonials below speak for themselves. Mods are available upon request.

All units are assembled and transistor-matched to order. Made in U.S.A.

Features:

  • 100% hand wired, bench-tested, and auditioned at bedroom and gig levels prior to shipping.
  • Gain-select N.O.S. Germanium NKT275 transistors
  • 5% carbon composition resistors throughout.

Hartman

A very musical sounding and faithful clone of the original Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face circuit using pairs of NOS ("new old-stock") PNP Germanium transistors carefully selected and paired for optimal texture, sensitivity and tone. Modern amenities include Level (Input Trim) control, true-bypass, on/off LED, and 9VDC-in jack.

In addition to the same Volume and Fuzz controls as the original, the Hartman Fuzz Level control helps to attenuate the strength of the input signal, enabling the fuzz to work with slightly hotter and higher-output pickups. Likewise, this control can be removed from the signal path by turning it to its far clockwise position, allowing the pedal to function in "stock" configuration.

Transistor pairs are selected from a range of old stock Germanium (including but not limited to: OC77, OC84, NKT271, AC128, NKT275, CV7007). We voice each Hartman Fuzz using NOS Germanium transistor-pairs selected for optimal leakage, gain, and reactance. We also audition their subjective attributes: clean-up, texture, and harmonic content with a real guitar in a human being's hands. Requirements for optimizing differ slightly between the two transistor slots in the pedal so transistor pairs are most often of mixed type.

Hand-wired, rugged construction, and thoroughly auditioned prior to shipping. Gain-select transistor pairing delivers sustain, smooth sexy decay, cleanup at the flick of your guitar volume, and the instantly recognizable yet indescribable tonal coloration of Germanium.

All Vintage Germanium Fuzz are hand-assembled and transistor-selected to order.
