The Greer Lightspeed Overdrive is a very organic sounding overdrive. Blending with the natural tone of the guitar and amplifier, this pedal has rich harmonics and complex but smooth clipping. The Lightspeed Overdrive is sensitive to pick attack and has a different "feel" than other overdrives. The Lightspeed can be set to be transparent but can also drive your signal to the edge.
We chose the word "organic" to describe the Greer Lightspeed Overdrive. The tone of the pedal is as natural a tone as we have heard from a pedal. The pedal blends well with the amplifier, and has an input signal structure that makes the pedal feel like an amplifier. Just like with a good tube amp, if the user plugs a single coil guitar in, the pedal is not as "hot" on the Drive control as it will be with P90s or Humbuckers.
As the Greer Lightspeed Overdrive was being developed, Nick would listen to the pedal as small, subtle changes were being made. Those changes all added up to a combination of modifications that improved the design of the pedal, making Nick's dream a reality. After the circuit was finalized, Nick decided to put the pedal into production. We know that you will enjoy playing this pedal as much as we do.
