The BC-03 is designed to improve and refine the sound of a bass-guitar. It extends the instrument's sustain and compensates the volume of different notes, making fast solo-passages clearer and more precise. At certain settings the BC-03 works as a limiter to prevent signal-overloads, which is especially useful for the slappingtechnique.
