This pedal has been developed to accurately simulate the tone sweep of the original De-Armond tone pedal which was used in the Sixties by Hank Marvin Of the Shadows along with many other famous Guitarists.
This pedal only requires one up and down movement for the tone change from bass to treble. The circuit was made using the same dual tone pots from the De-Armond design to achieve the same dynamic effect.
The original sixties De-Armond pedals main faults were the slide track falling off the rotary pot connecter and there was also a 15% volume loss.
This will not happen with the new Burns design. The volume is exactly the same as would be if the guitar was plugged direct into the amplifier. No battery is needed as the circuit is passive.
The final visual design and name has not been decsided yet.
The new pedal will be on test for the first time at this years Shadowmania on 5th September at the Lakeside Country club in Surrey.
