[interview] S-Audio: Jean-Marc Giffard

Here's FXDB's interview with Jean-Marc Giffard of S-Audio.

S-Audio is run by Jean-Marc Giffard. The company is located in Guyancourt, a suburb of Paris, France.

How did S-Audio start?

I've been building pedals for about 15 years (started by copying or adding mods on famous pedals). Many professional musicians asked me to build them pedals which initiated my company's creation.

Professional musicians have inspired me to create and innovate, they still do!

"S" means "Service", I offer Service to any audio devices.

What sets S-Audio apart from other builders?

All pedals are hand made, I use quality components and I try to simplify the use of the pedal.

How do you start on a new pedal?

I start to define the functions and draw the schematic of the pedal. It takes from 2 weeks up to 1 month to finalize the product.

Can you tell us something about the production process?

All pedals are build in house.

Who uses your pedals and for which genres?

S-Audio Pedals are for everyone, they're made to fill a gap in the market.

What does the future of S-Audio look like?

Next pedal plans: Preamp, filter and overdrive/distortion pedals.
